David Nangle is CEO and co-founder of VEF, and brings over 20 years of experience in the financial services sector across emerging markets. His extensive background includes prominent roles as Head of Financials and Research at Renaissance Capital, as well as Head of EMEA Financials Research at ING Barings. David holds a BComm Intl., Business & French, from University College Dublin.

Helena Caan Mattsson is the General Counsel and Head of Sustainability at VEF. With extensive experience in M&A and corporate law, she has held positions at Cederqvist, Baker & McKenzie and Roschier law firms. Her expertise spans domestic and cross-border M&A, including emerging markets. Helena holds LL.M degrees from Stockholm University and Jönköping International Business School.

Alexis Koumoudos is CIO at VEF. Alexis has spent his career investing across emerging markets, and prior to VEF was a partner at Skyline Capital Management, a hedge fund specializing in EM. He holds a BA in Business Finance from Durham University and an MSCs in Quantitative Finance from Cass Business School.

Kim Ståhl is CFO at VEF, bringing extensive experience from diverse finance functions. Before joining VEF, Kim held positions in fintech, marketing and legal services, including the role of Head of Accounting at Lendify. Kim holds a MSc in Business and Economics from Stockholm Business School.

Cathal Carroll is a senior member of the investment team at VEF. Having co-founded Carraighill, an independent research firm focused on global financial service companies, Cathal has substantial experience in the financial services industry across both developed and emerging markets. Cathal holds a B.A. (Hons) in Management Science and Information Systems from Trinity College Dublin.

Shashi Mahajan is a Principal at VEF. He has broad investing experience in EM, most recently as a Senior Analyst at True North Managers, an Indian growth buyout PE fund, investing across financial services and healthcare sectors in India. Shashi holds an MBA from London Business School and a B.E. (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from BITS Pilani, India.

Éire Smith is a Principal at VEF where she is a member of the investment and portfolio management team. Éire has over 6 years of experience investing in EM, joining VEF after completing a BA in Business and Economics from Trinity College Dublin.

Evin Mc Kay is a Principal at VEF, where he focuses on investment research, executing new opportunities, and ongoing portfolio management. Prior to joining VEF, he worked in investment banking at Morgan Stanley, most recently with an exclusive focus on Technology M&A and capital markets. Evin holds a BSc in Economics & Finance from University College Dublin.
